Hotend - electrical assembly

The components for the hotend:

Additional tools may be required such as pliers, cutting tools.

1.First step

We will need PTFE tape and the above parts

Apply tape on the rounded end, don’t clog the hole

I marked on the threded piece how much it should enter the other part. You could do the same, to know how much to tighten.

2. Second step

Installing the thermal block

Screw the thermal block till the end cap.

Install the nut

This is how much is supposed to be screwed, you could mark the lenght.

Apply PTFE tape.

Screw the part the parts toghater, be awere of orientation.

After screwing (10mm) tighten with the nut.

3.Step three

Installing the PTFE tube

I’ve marked the lenght to be screwed in the other parts, you could do the same

4. Step four / pasul patru

Installing the heating element. Parts needed

Coat the heating element with the paste.

Insert the element in the heating block

Connecting the wires

Try to over lap the terminals with the wires, then clamp on the aluminium tube with pliers to fix the parts togather

Insert thermo transparent constricting tube, the bigger size and heat it to shrink, u can use a lighter

5. Step five

Inserting the temperature sensor. Parts needed

Take the thermo transparent constricting tube smaller size, ply it in two and cut a corner of the middle part.

Insert the tube over the temperature sensor like in the picture.

Coat the sensor with paste

Insert the senzor in the thermal block

Connect the terminal with the wires, same as step four. Try to overlap the terminals with the wires.

Asambled parts, with a paper towel wipe any excess paste.

6. Step six / Pasul 6

Appling thermal insulating tape. Parts needed

The tape hase a protectiv film remove it before applying.

Apply tape strongly over the heating block, end cap like in the pictures

It is important not to have tape over the end hole, If you accidentaly apply tape to much on the end cap just cut it with a cutter

Optional you could secure the wires with something.
